This Valentine's week, celebrate with Baldwin House at our Giving Plan workshop
This February, celebrate radical community love with Baldwin House!
Dear Friend,
This Valentine's Week, celebrate radical community love with Baldwin House!
Baldwin House is all in for celebrating all types of love — self-love, community love, systems of care that enable us to love even more broadly, and re-investing our care and commitment back into our community. Keep reading for an invitation from Baldwin House to participate in a Giving Plan workshop that centers our radical love for our community.
Baldwin House is responding to this moment of targeted, systemic hate and oppression with a comprehensive approach to love as resistance:
Self-Soothing: we are all deserving of comfort and rest.
Self-Care: “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare” - Audre Lorde
Community Care: taking dedicated steps to take care of each other during this time, whether it be an extra joyous birthday celebration, cooking for a friend who is ill, or sending unprompted love notes with words of affirmation
Structural Care: we must build the institutions we deserve. Institutions that celebrate the breadth of our complex identities and equip us with the resources to grow our talents.
One way that we practice both Community and Structural Care is by investing in our communities and the solutions we all deserve. For those of us with some extra resources, this is the time to act.
Baldwin House is hosting a Giving Plan workshop on Monday, February 10th at 6:30 to 8:30 pm ET on zoom. Join us to make a plan to organize your giving for 2025! During this Giving Plan workshop, participants will learn strategies to decide how to give money and redistribute wealth in 2025, both to Baldwin House and more broadly! We'll share updates on Baldwin House and also share tools anyone can use to decide how to distribute their donations across efforts you care about.
We always encourage our supporters to include Baldwin House in your Giving Plan, but also to dream up what your approach to investing in Community and Structural Care looks like and make a plan to execute. This will be an action-oriented session — come prepared to make your own individual plan for redistributing money and wealth in the coming year.
We hop to see you there!
In Solidarity,
